Mahboub Maalim (Somali: Maxbuub Macalin, Arabic: محبوب معلم; born )[1] is a Kenyan diplomat. He was the executive secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development ().[2][3] He was appointed by the 12th Summit of IGAD Heads of State and Government that was held on 14 June in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.[4] He was reappointed for a second term on 11 July [5][6]
A civil engineer by profession and a veteran rural development expert,[7] he previously served as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Water and Irrigation in Kenya.
He had also served as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of State for Special Programs in the Office of the President.[8][9]
